By Writing Just A Single Automated Email Containing Less Than 100 Words
Hey there,
You landed here because you want better deliverability, higher open rates, and a whole lot more sales from your newsletter…
So, as promised, I’m going to reveal how you can do exactly that.
To make this dead simple: All you’ve got to do is write one email that’s sent 6 hours after a subscriber signs up to your list.
And to be clear, you should still send an immediate welcome email, and then after that, you send the “6-Hour-Email.” And all it is is a short block of text (just under 100 words) that gets people to send a reply.
You heard that right.
REPLY.
That’s the goal of this email.
Why, you may ask?
Because Gmail has this strange little quirk that, when someone replies to your email, it automatically adds you as a contact to their account. Once that happens, emails start hitting the primary inbox, deliverability gets a massive boost, and the engagement you get tells Gmail, “hey, these guys can be trusted.”
And you’re not just building trust with Gmail. You’re building it with your audience as well. Instead of spamming them with your sh*tty marketing campaigns, you’re actually taking the time to check on them, communicate with them, and make sure you did what you promised.
What do I mean by “promised”?Let’s say you promised to send them something after they signed up to your newsletter - kind of like how I promised to send you this template/tutorial.
6-hours after you’ve sent it, you’ll have a quick email prepared which simply asks them to reply if they got (or didn’t get) that “something.”
If it’s a discount, ask them if they got it.
If it’s a template, double-check it landed.
If it’s a weak promise of “news and updates” (yawn) - get them to update you before you start “updating” them.
You get the gist.
And even if you’re not offering anything, you can still write a “6-Hour-Email”... Just ask them if they got your welcome email lol.
It’s also important to mention that, in this particular email, you need to keep it conversational. No passive voice. No “we appreciate your correspondence with our service,” and definitely NO SELLING.
It’s just a human email that says hey, let me know you got it.
That’s it.
Here’s an example:
The “6-Hour-Email” Template
Subject Line:
Did you get it? (So I can sleep)
Body:
Hey {{first_name}},
With all of Gmail’s spam filters nowadays, a lot of the emails I send don’t end up where they should be.
But that’s not going to stop me. I promised you X (e.g., I promised you that free discount code / I promised one of our team would reach out to you ASAP, etc.,) and I want to make sure you (got it.)
If you do have it, please hit a quick reply so I can go back to bed. Even a quick “got it” is enough.
If you don’t have it, here’s the link again:
LINK/CODE (to what you promised them)
Talk soon,
Firstname “will sleep soundly tonight” Lastname
P.S.
If you’ve got any questions about X or need XYZ just reply to this email and I’ll answer you ASAP. I read every one of them.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is literally it.
1 quick email - less than 100 words - and your email marketing sales are almost guaranteed to go up by a pretty big margin.
Of course, there’s a lot more to email than this one little trick. You have to get the rest of the strategy right too, if you really want it to work.
I’ll be sending you some seriously valuable emails over the next few days talking about stuff that I normally only share with paying clients, so make sure you don’t miss them.
Or you can get in touch now if you’re looking to work with us.
Either or, hope this helps.
