THE 5-MINUTE ALGORITHM TRICK THAT LET’S ANYONE…
Without Changing ANYTHING About Your Videos, Content Strategy, or Profile
So, what’s the trick that easily rakes in more engagement, more views, and a sh*t load more sales?
Long captions.
Now you’re probably thinking, “that’s simple enough…”
And it is, this method is genuinely one of the easiest ways to hack the algorithm, if you get it right.
And don’t worry, getting it right isn’t rocket science, there are just a few things you’ll want to do to get the best results possible:
1 Stay On Topic.
Basic?
Yes.
Important?
Definitely.
When people try out this method, I see a lot of them rambling on about their life’s story… on a video that has nothing to do with that.
It’s fine to write stories about your life but not on a post that’s about hiring a good skips.(unless they’re connected.)
So while I’m about to spill the beans on how to write a good “long caption,” none of it will work if you’re not on topic.
And generally, you should be super on topic.
Like if you’ve got a post about good golf balls, don’t start talking about golf carts in the caption.
Stay on topic with your audience, post, and business tone.
2 the big three
There are a lot of ways you can write your caption…
And yes, some of them will just be you rambling about some niche detail of your posts (and that’s fine)
But if you want some inspiration or the best practices, here’s my top 3:
1 STORIES.
For centuries humans have loved, read, and made stories.
So when someone starts telling one, you’re biologically programmed to listen.
And they’re great for building a relationship with your audience since you’re telling them a bit of your experience.
2 benefits.
Post about a diet?
What are the best things about that diet?
What can people expect if they try it?
How easy is it to prepare?
I’m no chef but these are the questions people want answered.
So if you put them in your caption, people will have their eyes glued from top to bottom.
3 problems, pains, or struggles.
Imagine you’re scrolling reels and you’ve got terrible back pain.
Then one post pops up with a caption that reads…
“Back pain.
That’s what ruins some people’s lives.
Maybe it’s hard to play with their kids, maybe they can’t sleep right, or maybe they just don’t want to be in constant pain for the rest of their lives.
But blah blah blah”
You’d read that thing from top to bottom because it’s directly about you and one of the most important problems in your life.
Ok now you know what to write, but is that enough to get people to read?
Sometimes, but if you want an extra advantage, use…
3 Open loops.
Put simply, open loops are baiting people with something and then not revealing that something.
E.g., “The only reason you’re reading how to punch people in the face (don’t worry I’ll get to that in a second) and not fast asleep…”
I told them, I’m going to explain how to “punch people in the face,” and then didn’t do it.
(because I’m going to do it in a second.)
So whatever is important, relevant or just something people want to know about…
Take that thing and drag it throughout your whole caption so that people stay focused and actually get to the end.
4 One last note
Like I said, it’s really simple.
But if you really want to hit things out of the park with your captions, you can add a CTA.
Maybe it’s “like the post,” maybe it’s “follow for more,” or it could even be “reply with x if you want x.”
Whatever you’re getting them to do, make sure you’re getting them to do something.
Because Instagram promotes videos more when they get engagement.
Use this quick gem to your advantage and you’ll see the results come in after a few of those posts.
Until next time,
