Nobody Wants To Read Your Copy

There’s a myth in the world of copywriting that tells you you’ll be paid thousands of dollars a month writing emails.

While this concept isn’t necessarily a myth, the consensus surrounding the difficulty of reaching this stage is.

It’s not a case of “outreach”, “saturated market”, or “false information” surrounding your lack of success / inability to earn the money promised to you. It’s more a case of your copywriting is shit.

I’ve said it more than once, and I’m saying it again. If you’re sick of me telling you some hard truths then find a different occupation, because constructive criticism and highlighting reality is the only chance you have to succeed in this difficult market.

People are paid 5 figures a month to write emails. Not because they sweat their social life away sending 200 outreach a day. Not because they got lucky and landed a client on their first try. Not because they’re privileged, getting all their work through warm outreach. None of that.

People are making 5 figures a month because they’re good at writing copy.

You can spend you nights prioritizing volume over quality, and that may work for you. But i’m telling you from experience, that shit doesn’t last.

There’s an old saying my dad used to say to me:

“If you buy cheap, you buy twice.”

Is your copywriting cheap?

Have you cut corners to try and land your first client as quickly as possible? Or have you taken the time to study the art of persuasion? The craft of English writing? The actual act of copywriting.

If not, then that’s where you’re going wrong.

Take a bit of time to study this craft before you jump head first into outreach.

There’s NOTHING more disheartening than finally landing your first client, only to lose them cos your copy is shit.
