How A Failed Sales Call Made Me $5000

And an unlimited stream of clients....

Do you enjoy sending outreach ?

I don’t outreach anymore.

I thought outside the box and landed myself a deal with a millionaire to get access to incoming clients.

In short - I have immediate access to clients whenever I want - without having to outreach.

How?

It all started 2 months ago.

My outreach method was popping off, and the work was stacking up - almost as high as the pile of money that came with it.

It was on one sunny evening when i reached out to an enthusiastic business owner, looking to market his business on social media.

After a brief conversation, I discovered this prospect was a website dev with 10 years of experience.

He had recently quit his job in the hopes of building his own brand.

At the end of the call, I told him to fuck off.

Well… I didn’t use that exact phrasing, but the call ended in a bust due to the lack of funds he had available for my services.

You might be wondering how a busted sales call drove me in the direction of a fountain of clients.

Well… This prospect happened to show me his portfolio.

And in his portfolio, sat a website he had helped to develop.

The very website of the organisation he used to work for.

Curious, I decided to investigate this company to see if they required a copywriter.

And guess what?

No newsletter.

As my balls tingled at the thought of yet another potential client,

I reached out to the CEO of the company after using a very clever software to locate his personal email address.

Long story short, we booked a sales call for the next day, and the highlight of the call was this:

CEO - “I’m more interested to learn how you got a hold of my email address”

Me - “I’ll tell you if you give me a cookie”

CEO - “We’ve got a biscuit tin in the office, come down tomorrow.”

With that, i jumped in my car and made my way to the most important meeting of my life….

As I approached the large office complex, I felt a warm sludge starting to develop inside my underpants.

I was shitting myself.

But i knew that if i walked into that office stinking of shit and shaking in my shoes, the meeting would crumble, and i would walk away empty handed.

I took a large breath, puffed out my chest, and walked up to the entrance like I was Andrew fucking Tate himself.

The meeting was fun.

We had a good chat, and i divulged my secret of email acquisition.

Impressed by the software, and the tactics I used to locate him - It was time for the pitch.

This client was mine.

Me - “So, do you want me to do your email campaigns?”

CEO - “………. HAHAHAHAHA!…… No”

Wtf.

My heart pounded, and i felt the lump of sludge in my pants grow as my whole plan came crashing down around me….

CEO - “BUT…..”

Upon hearing its name called out, my butt clenched as i vacuumed back up the pile of mess i had left in my pants.

CEO - “I have a plethora of clients that definitely need a copywriter.”

Did I mention this prospect was the CEO of a large digital marketing agency?

An agency that specialized in website development, search engine optimization, and other areas i have no interest in understanding.

What was the one service they didn’t offer?

Copywriting.

So after some painful negotiations,

We agreed an a business deal.

The CEO would allow me to work as a freelancer, writing content for his clients and getting paid via my own pricing and invoices.

In exchange, we agreed on a 15% rev share for all work i complete that comes directly from the agency.

Since then, I have completed 5 projects for his clients:

Landing pages, sales pages etc.

Charging my clients an avg of $1000 / project.

Minus the kickback that my partner receives, I am left with $850 / project.

(Landing pages take like 3 hours to write)

I have access to work whenever I want - and I am well on my way to making my first 5 figure month.

(I’m lazy so i don’t like working more than a couple hours a day)

If you wanna start getting incoming clients - start thinking outside the box.

The same way i definitely didn’t accidentally do….

P.S: I’m offering free 1:1 calls for this week only. Due to the over abundance of work that we have, we’re looking for talented copywriters to invite on to the team and make some money.

If you’re interested in getting some paid work - book a call with me here and you might just find yourself walking away with a client:
