Why I Quit Copywriting
Was it all worth it?
Hi Guys
Just a quick update to let everyone know that I recently made the decision to quit copywriting.
After starting out in March, closing my first client in May, and stacking up over $40,000 since it all started, I’ve decided it’s time to hang up the gloves and call it a day.
Don’t get me wrong, the money is good. I just can’t be bothered with the daily mind fuck that comes with being a freelance copywriter.
My main problem with copywriting is the inner battle I find myself fighting to make my copy perfect.
“Is this the best problem to target”,
“How many people will be interested in this product”,
“Does this word belong here? Does that word belong there?”,
“What if it isn’t good enough? What if my client doesn’t like it?”,
But most of all…
“What if my copy doesn’t convert? What if my client decides to stop paying me?”
It truly is one of the most mentally draining careers that you can choose, so I quit.
No more email marketing for clients, no more ad scripts, no more SMMA, no more sales funnels, and NO MORE COPYWRITING.
I mean, let’s be honest with ourselves… AI is more than likely going to take over direct response in the next few years anyway, so what’s the point?
There isn’t one. So that’s why I've switched from copywriting to content writing.
What’s the difference?
Copywriting is all about persuading someone’s buying decision. A brutal skill that requires absolute perfection in every piece of copy that you write. Content writing, however, is all about informative content. Providing readers with the information they’re already looking for.
You don’t have to worry about manipulating them into taking action or warming them up to take action in the future. Your target audience is already looking for answers. The content you write simply has to answer their query.
What I’m talking about, is SEO.
Search Engine Optimisation.
Writing articles and blog posts to help websites rank on Google by providing high-quality informative content.
It’s kind of like copywriting, minus all the bullshit, and it makes me a whopping $1000 per day. Sometimes more.
The problem is, it’s quite complicated to learn, but once you do, it’s as easy as driving a car. You don’t even need to think about it unlike copywriting where literally every fucking word is important.
I just posted a full SEO Content Writing course on my YouTube channel yesterday so all of you can get in on the sauce. I’m telling you, copywriting will fade into obscurity and SEO will become the next best business model VERY SOON, so learn it before you land in the same hole you’re in now…
Too much competition to make a dent.
“Didn’t you just say AI was going to take over?”
I did, but I specifically said that it would take over direct response. You see, Google’s algorithm is so intelligent that I can’t think of any fancy ways of describing it. It just knows what AI is, and flags that shit as spam IMMEDIATELY after it’s detected.
Want to tank your client’s website in less than 2 weeks? Use AI.
Business owners are screaming for talented SEO content writers because too many noobs are becoming over-reliant on AI, consequently crashing business owners around the world.
We are a dying breed that is about to be revitalised. Our price is high but our work is gold.
I just got paid £800 ($1000) to write an article that took me 2 hours to complete, and I recorded the whole process from contact to payment so you can see just how fucking easy it is to make up to $5000 PER DAY!
Video coming out in 2 weeks. For now, watch my full SEO content writing course so you actually understand what I’m doing when the new video drops.
Peace out.
